I've long lived by the credo that forgiveness is an attribute of the strong. People identify it with showing weakness or caving in, which is absolutely false. If anything... most of the time they were wrong and they need to understand that if you make a mistake, well stand up to it...
Once you realize it's ok to make a mistake, you can also realize that's it's ok to be yourself. You won't get everything right in life. When you do screw up, say you are sorry, then keep looking forward. Mistakes, sorrys, and the likes aren't end points, but building blocks to grow on. `Only those that do not try make no mistakes.
Excuses are the things people use when they are afraid to tell the truth. You swing and miss the very same way you do when you swing and hit a homerun. It's natural to miss at times. Don't fret over the misses.
Life is full of trials and errors. Life is full of good times and bad times. It's full of successes and many times you came up a bit short. You apologize when you make a mistake and stand pat when you don't. Life grants you only one life to live... there is not time to waste holding a grudge nor is there time to waste having to prove that you're right.
The value between right and wrong is zero. The value between stubbornness and forgiveness is an eternity. To say you are sorry is an attribute of the strong and our quest is to be stronger and live better. We have all held grudges at one point in our lives, my plead now is to let them go. They don't help and what doesn't help doesn't matter.
Mistakes happen. So does happiness. I say err on the side of happiness. If you can't get everything right, get the things that matter the most to you right... and when that fails, just smile. Looking towards a brighter future doesn't mean dwelling on past failures, but learning from different attempts. Keep smiling everyone, happiness is always just a moment away.
